Meet CAT — Computer-Aided Teaching. CAT turns your instructor’s lectures, notes, figures, worked examples, and tutorials into a course-specific AI teaching assistant.

Ask a question, explore a diagram, or work through a calculation, using the same language and methods you learned in class. CAT connects explanations back to the course material, so you can return to the relevant page, example, or tutorial.

And if the course materials don’t support an answer, CAT says so. The goal is simple: find the gap, build your reasoning, and try the next problem more independently.

    Lectures, notes, slides, figures, worked examples, and tutorials form the course-specific foundation. The material and source formats are agreed during setup.

    Help students reason through a concept, calculation, or diagram. References can point back to relevant pages, slides, examples, or transcript moments where those sources are included.

    Keep teaching in the loop.

    Instructors review representative answers and course scope before release. The assistant is designed to acknowledge unsupported questions; AI answers can still be wrong and should be checked.

Institution hosted

Built for your environment.

A deployment can be designed for your institution’s cloud subscription, with deployment templates, technical guidance, and agreed updates. Your IT team’s responsibilities and cloud/model costs are defined in the agreement.

Privacy, data residency, retention, model-provider processing, access controls, integrations, and support are specified for each deployment. An institution-hosted arrangement does not by itself guarantee that data stays within a particular boundary.

Before we begin

Questions worth asking.

Is CAT a replacement for the instructor?

No. CAT supports learning alongside instructors and teaching teams. Course scope, review, and teaching decisions remain human responsibilities. It is designed to encourage understanding, not bypass learning or assessment rules.

Can we use our own materials and update them?

Yes. The engagement begins with materials your institution is authorised to provide. Preparation, instructor review, updates, and ownership/licensing terms are agreed for the selected course workflow.

Can CAT fit our systems and policies?

Custom interfaces, integrations, language requirements, and governance controls can be considered during scoping. Compatibility, implementation work, data flows, and acceptance criteria are established before agreement; no particular LMS connector or compliance certification is implied.

How are pricing and support determined?

Request a quotation. Course preparation, custom development, hosting, model usage, maintenance, and support depend on the agreed design. The 24/7 teaching-support goal is not a blanket uptime or support-response guarantee.

How do CAT, CAPS, and GPT-TA relate?

CAT — Computer-Aided Teaching is the current name. Earlier versions were developed under the names CAPS and, before that, GPT-TA. Older demonstrations may retain their original names.
